Larry Jacobson




Sioux Falls (O'Gorman High School). Nebraska. The 6-7, 250-pound Jacobson was All-American defensive tackle and Outland Trophy winner for the national champion Nebraska Cornhuskers (13-0) in 1971. Played in one of the most ballyhooed games of all-time: Oklahoma vs. Nebraska, 1971. He also was All-American in 1970 as Nebraska was 11-0-1 and AP national champion. Was the 24th player chosen in the 1972 NFL draft, by the New York Giants. Played three seasons in the NFL before injuries ended his career in 1976 at age 26. Was all-state in football (1966 and '67) and basketball ('68) at O'Gorman. Is a member of Univ. of Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame, selected to all-time Nebraska team, and had his number retired by Nebraska.
