2021 SD Sports Hall of Fame Banquet

Sioux Falls Convention Center

The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2020 and 2021 will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  A new class of individuals will be selected for the Class of 2021 and be held in conjunction with the induction of the Class of 2020.  The ten persons scheduled to be inducted in 2020 are Bruce Conley, Laverne Diede, Doug Eggers, Randy Fletcher , Kevin Leighton, Ronald Mitchell, Darwin Robinson, Ken Ruml, Heather (Sieler) Goehner, and Steve Withorne.  2021 Inductees include John Houska, Wally Johnson, Jim Miner, Gary Reed, and Duane Whalen.

There will be a limited number of tickets to be sold at the door.  Cost of tickets are $50.

The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to the preservation, documentation and display of South Dakota's sports history. Each year outstanding athletes, coaches and contributors are selected to the Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame was established by the South Dakota Sportswriters Association in 1968.

An advisory board of approximately 30 people, representing nearly every sport that South Dakotan's participate in, provides input and helps nominate individuals to the Hall.
