Jack Martin

1941 Creighton grad. Was athletic director and head coach in all sports at USD-Springfield from 1946-56. In 21 years as football coach at USD-S, he guided the Pointers to four South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference championships and a 103-64-5 record. His basketball teams were 89-78 and his track teams finished in the top four in the conference meet 13 times in 17 seasons. Before taking the USD-S job, he coached at Tyndall and Salem and served a four-year stint in the Army. Attended USD-S (then Southern State Normal) for two years, lettering in three sports.
