Bob Winter




Wessington Springs HS. Yankton College. One of the most successful coaches in state history, Winter won 86 percent of his games (319-53) as coach of the Yankton girls basketball team from 1975-91. Won eight Class A titles and was runner-up three times. Also won 12 Eastern South Dakota Conference titles. Was the first South Dakota girls basketball coach to reach 300 wins. Was national girls basketball coach of the year in 1987. Was the boys basketball coach at Yankton from 1965-74, going 143-63, winning the state title in '74 and finishing second in 1970, '72 and '73. After coaching, became Yankton's athletic director.
